An interesting visitor

Today, while I was doing school with Josh, Jazzy was outside. She was barking at something, which she doesn't do often. I went out to get after her and saw this hawk sitting on the fence.
He just sat there looking around. The birds all around were not happy that the hawk was there, as they were sqwaking and squeeling. This hawk must be a baby as it can't fly very well. It was very tame and didn't fight when the man came to get the bird.

This man found the hawk the other day at work. He came in on a train and tried to fly away, but couldn't. So this man is taking care of the bird until he can fly on his own. Josh and Kyler had a great time looking at the hawk and petting it.

Memorial weekend

We had such a great time camping over the weekend :) It was so wet, but we did have a great time still. We went up to Emigrant Springs and rented a cabin. We love getting the cabins at Emigrant Springs. There are propane stoves for cooking and we just love the fact that we don't have to set up the tent. Although the older two boys, have tents that they set up so they can camp outdoors for scout requirements :)

Let's see if I can get some pictures of our camping :) The boys had a great time. Josh was able to meet a new boy that was riding his bike around watching us set up camp. It was too cute. Blake is his name, he's from The Dalles and is Josh's age. It's hard to believe that Blake is the same age or younger than Josh, as he is much bigger than Josh. Too funny, Josh is a runt :)

Saturday fun

Saturday, we had a great time at the airport. They had the young eagles day, where the pilots from around the area take the children 8-18 on a plane ride. Sadly, the two little boys didn't get to fly ,but the older boys had a great time. Aaron was able to fly the plane he was riding in. Brandon and Josh rode in a plane together with another boy. Both Aaron and Brandon were able to be the copilot of their plane.

The fire department and police department were also there with booths. There was a ladder truck that the boys were able to sit in. The military also had a helicopter that we went in. The boys asked great questions...even Kyler asked great questions.

I was worried that Kyler would be all over the place with excitement, but he was really very well behaved. He stayed right by my side throughout the whole time we were at the airport.

My American Idol

David Archuleta has always been my american Idol since he tried out for the show. He's got such a pure sweet voice. This young man is a great example to the young boys that think they can't sing because it's not Macho....

We're rooting for David Archuleta :) Go David !!!!!! I found some of his songs on the playlist and added one or two to my list. Cute kid...terrific, talented young man.

When Children Play

I absolutely love it when the boys are playing nicely with each other. The boys love playing together outside especially. Now that the weather is nicer, they are outside more.

Josh and Dallin got some chalk out the other day and were making beautiful pictures on the cement out back. I took the opportunity to get some pictures of them while they were playing so well.... it's sometimes hard to remember they are actually kind to each other when they fight so it's good to have that reminder :)

So here are som pictures of the boys being brothers :) Good times.

How small is YOUR world?

Well, my world just got a whole lot smaller over the last few days....pleasantly smaller, I might add.

I was on facebook with a friend from second grade in Idaho, Colleen Higley. She was updating me on her family and then told me about her brother. It turns out that her brother married one of my best friends from PA when I lived there when I was 14. WOW!!!! It was so incredibly cool. Colleen had just mentioned Cara's name, so I just asked for the heck of it "Cara who?" She told me her last name was Hutchings... I died.... It was so very excited to finally have found a special friend that I've been looking for for a long time. Niether Colleen, nor I could believe it. Colleen called Cara and then called me so we talked for close to an hour on the phone. It was great to catch up and make contact again after so many years :) What are the odds of having a friend from Idaho meet a friend from Pennsylvania? WOW!!!!

Facebook is such a great thing.... I've found so many high school and middle school friends on there. I have loved finding friends from the past. I am still looking for some and pray that I will be blessed to find them as well. For now, I'm appreciating the blessing of having those friends brought back to me.

The Lord knew exactly what I needed to give me more strength to carry on. I am so very blessed to have so many wonderful friends, even though we can't get together as often as I would like. To know that I do have friends is comforting in itself.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was wonderful :) It was more of a weekend thing. We got our kicker check and then bought a bbq grill. We got burgers and dogs and had a wonderful bbq friday evening :) No cooking for me all weekend. What more could you ask for.

On Sunday morning, Tim and Kyler got up early and made breakfast for me in bed. They sat with me while I ate my breakfast...personal conversations at breakfast time and no cooking :) woohooo!!!!! I also got a beautiful clematis flower..purple and yellow.

The boys put together a lego sign for me so we took the opportunity for a picture. At church, the boys were all good. The little boys sang with the primary "Mother I love you" I love to see and hear them sing.

After church, we went to visit my mom and give her her mother's day gifts :) They took more pictures as we were still dressed in our sunday best.

What a blessing it is to be a mother of these sweet precious boys. I love them all. To have a dear husband that cares about me so much is such a blessing as well.
